Effective July 1, 2019, Microsoft will no longer sell Microsoft Skype for Business Online Plan 2 Standalone offers to new or existing customers, as Microsoft continues to help customers transition to Microsoft Teams.
Customers who have purchased the Microsoft Skype for Business Online Plan 2 Standalone will have access to the service until the end of their contract. Those who have access to Microsoft Skype for Business Online Plan 2 on one of the Microsoft Office 365 suites will not be affected by this change.
Microsoft encourages customers to upgrade to an Microsoft Office 365 or Microsoft 365 suite to benefit from Microsoft Teams, the primary client for messaging, meetings and calling in Microsoft Office 365.
For those customers still on Microsoft Skype for Business Online, Microsoft Skype for Business Online Plan 2 will still be available in the following Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft 365 suites:
- Microsoft Office 365 Business Essentials
- Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium
- Microsoft Office 365 E1
- Microsoft Office 365 E3
- Microsoft Office 365 E5
- Microsoft 365 E3
- Microsoft 365 E5
