Through the Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) Microsoft has redesigned the way of purchasing volume licenses. In cooperation with licensing partners and customers, Microsoft has developed a licensing program that combines the transactional purchase of software licenses and Online Services in one agreement which is significantly simplified compared to previous agreements.
The MPSA consolidates all applicable terms and conditions that are in the current Microsoft Select Plus Agreement for purchasing software licenses, the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement (MOSA) for purchasing Online Services and the Microsoft Business and Services Agreement (MBSA) for the general business terms and conditions in one single agreement with a significant reduced extent. Through this innovation you will save time compared to reading and proofing three agreements in the past. Suited for commercial organizations with 250 or more users, the MPSA is the best option for transactional purchases of Microsoft products and Online Services.
MPSA features include the following:
- A single indefinite agreement with integrated purchasing for Online Services, software, and Software Assurance, offering a single way to acquire your asset portfolio
- Purchasing Accounts that empower you to define and redefine your organization’s purchasing strategy
- Best overall pricing through consolidating points across Online Services and software.
A Purchasing Account is any unit within your organization that can independently purchase and manage Online Services and software. Each Purchasing Account is associated with your organization’s MPSA through the legal entity that is registering the accounts. All Online Services and software purchases under all Purchasing Accounts are associated with your MPSA. In addition, they are automatically consolidated by organization type, granting you the best volume discount based on the points acquired per pool.
All companies associated with your company around the world can participate in a MPSA. Procurement is done via so-called Purchasing Accounts that you define. With MPSA Purchasing Accounts, you can decide how you want to purchase – by affiliate, division, department, or any other group that you specify in your organization. You can define and name these accounts in any way to align to your organization’s purchasing structure.
