Microsoft announces Windows 10 S – a version of Windows 10 Pro that is, in Microsoft’s words, “optimized for security and performance”. It does this by working only with apps from the Windows Store and having Edge as its default browser. You can pay to upgrade to Microsoft Windows 10 Pro through the Windows Store at any time, but you can’t then go back to Windows 10 S.

The End of Support for Adobe Acrobat XI (Pro & Standard) is getting closer. End of Support means that Adobe will no longer provide security updates, product updates and technical support for Adobe Acrobat XI from October 15th, 2017.

What does this mean for you?

While you may continue to use Adobe Acrobat and Reader XI and all previous versions, Adobe will no longer provide any updates or address any security vulnerabilities in the software. Please be aware that unsupported PDF software is a huge security risk in your IT environment. Technical support for this version of Adobe Acrobat will also be discontinued.

Microsoft 16-Pack Core Licenses Available

Microsoft is introducing a new 16-pack of Core Licenses for Windows Server, System Center, Core Infrastructure Suites (CIS) and Premium Assurance in May 2017 in addition to the existing 2-pack of Core Licenses. This new Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) will be a convenient option for customers licensing servers with 16 or fewer cores. It can also serve as an optional base pack for licensing servers with more than 16 cores. The 2-pack Core Licenses will continue to be available, and customers have the choice of two SKUs. There are no changes in the Product Terms and licensing requirements and customers must still license all physical cores on their servers. There is also no difference in pricing between one 16-pack and eight 2-packs.
