Atlassian Data Center: Price Increases

Effective February 17, 2026, Atlassian will increase the list prices by ~15%* for the following Data Center products:

  • Jira Data Center
  • Confluence Data Center
  • Jira Service Management Data Center

Organizations should review their plans now to avoid unexpected budget impacts.

Note: These products are also scheduled to reach their end of life soon: https://www.schneider.im/atlassian-data-center-end-of-life/.

Timeline Summary

These changes apply to new purchases, renewals, and upgrades.

  • Now – February 16, 2026: Old pricing still applies. SCHNEIDER IT MANAGEMENT can issue a quote at the old price. Any quote generated before February 17, 2026 will be honored under the previous pricing until the quote expires.
  • February 17, 2026: Quotes created or modified on or after February 17, 2026 will follow the new list prices.

How Do You Estimate Your New Pricing?

*Get in contact with your sales expert at SCHNEIDER IT MANAGEMENT to receive an up-to-date quote based on your tier, configuration, product mix, and renewal timing. We check tier boundaries, identify cost-saving scenarios, and evaluate whether Data Center or Cloud is more cost-effective for your organization.

Licensing Guide

  • Tier-Based Licensing: All Atlassian Data Center products (Jira DC, Confluence DC, Jira Service Management DC) use annual user tiers. You always pay for the next tier above your user count.
  • Tier Rounding Example:
    • If you have 450 users, you pay the 500‑user tier.
    • If you add users and reach 520, you move to the 1,000‑user tier, which may significantly increase your renewal cost.
  • Product-Specific Prices: Each product has its own pricing per tier, but the licensing model is the same for all three.
  • Renewal Pricing Follows Tier: Your renewal price is based on the tier you fall into at renewal time, not the tier you originally purchased.

Why Is Atlassian Making This Change?

Over the past 12 months, Atlassian released several enhancements across Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management to support organizations that rely on self-managed deployments. More realisitically, though, Atlassian wants to transition the last remaining Data Center customers to the cloud – they talk about 99% of customers being in the cloud already.

What Does This Mean for Your Organization?

  1. Your pricing will change at your next renewal on or after February 17, 2026: Existing quotes created before this date remain valid only until their expiration.
  2. Marketplace Apps are not affected: Atlassian Marketplace apps are priced independently by each app developer.
  3. Academic and Community programs remain unchanged:
    1. Academic institutions continue receiving 50% off commercial list prices.
    2. Eligible nonprofit organizations continue receiving Community licenses at no cost.
  4. Cloud migration incentives remain available: Customers evaluating Cloud can access:
    1. A free Cloud migration trial lasting through their remaining Data Center subscription term (up to 12 months and 20,000 users)
    2. Dual Licensing, supporting parallel Data Center and Cloud access during transition
