Microsoft has announced a significant update to the license enforcement schedule for Microsoft Dynamics 365<\/a> Finance & Operations and related ERP applications. This change affects how and when organizations must assign licenses to users and introduces a more flexible, renewal-based enforcement model.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Changing?<\/h2>\n

Previously, Microsoft planned to enforce license assignment for all users of Dynamics 365 ERP apps starting on 1 September 2025. This deadline was later postponed to 1 November 2025. Now, Microsoft has introduced a rolling enforcement model that begins on 15 January 2026.<\/p>\n

Under the new plan, license enforcement will no longer occur on a fixed date for all customers. Instead, enforcement will begin at each customer\u2019s first contract anniversary or renewal date after 15 January 2026. This means that every organization will have a personalized deadline based on its subscription cycle.<\/p>\n
