Effective November 2025,<\/strong> Microsoft introduced significant changes to Visual Studio 2026\u2019s update channels. The new Insiders Channel<\/strong> replaces the long-standing Preview Channel and gives developers early access to upcoming features. The Stable Channel<\/strong> delivers validated, production-ready updates on a monthly schedule. Starting with Visual Studio 2026, Microsoft is moving to an annual release cycle: each year in November the product will update in place to the next version (for example, Visual Studio 2026 will upgrade to Visual Studio 2027 in November 2026). At the same time, a Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC)<\/strong> edition of the previous annual release will be offered, providing a static feature set with security updates for one year.<\/p>\n
