Effective April 1, 2024, there is separate pricing for servers and endpoints in both on-premises and cloud editions from ManageEngine (a division of Zoho). Generally, these licensing changes lead to higher prices for server management. This adjustment aligns with industry standards and is designed to better cater to the evolving needs of Zoho’s users.
Why the Change?
ManageEngine has introduced several innovative features specifically designed for servers over the years. These features are for example:
- Vulnerability Management: Seamlessly link vulnerabilities with corresponding patches for streamlined resolution.
- Patch Management: Utilize pre- and post-deployment scripts, self-service portals, and customizable policies for efficient patching.
- Server Application Support: Manage and maintain server-specific applications effortlessly.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement efficient and customizable solutions for folder backups.
- Remote Control and Troubleshooting: Leverage integrated features for diagnosing and resolving server issues.
- Imaging and Deployment of Server Operating Systems: Streamline server deployment processes. Imaging refers to capturing a “snapshot” of a server’s OS after it has been configured with the necessary settings, applications, and updates. This image serves as a template for deploying the OS to other servers.
- Security: Granular control over services, processes, and user access for enhanced security.
Despite separate server pricing, ManageEngine remains competitive and can now focus on enhancing server functionalities.
When Will the New Licensing Take Effect?
The new licensing structure will apply to customers upon their next renewal or license upgrade. Until then, existing subscriptions will remain unchanged.
