Microsoft SQL Server 2012 ESUs and System Center 2012 End of Support

Effective July 12, 2022, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft System Center 2012 reach their End of Support (EoS).

Effective March 1, 2022, Extended Security Updates (ESU) Year 1 for System Center 2012 are available and enable customers to purchase an additional year of support.

Customers with active Software Assurance or subscription licenses can purchase Extended Security Updates annually for 75 percent of the license cost of the latest version of SQL Server or Windows Server for the first year, 100 percent of the license cost for the second year, and 125 percent of the license cost for the third year. Customers pay for only the servers they need to cover, so they can reduce costs each year as they upgrade parts of their environment to Azure.

However, customers running SQL Server 2012 in Azure will get 3 additional years of Extended Security Updates for free.
