Microsoft Windows Server 2012: End of Support

On October 10, 2023, all editions of Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 will reach end of support. The last security update for these products will also be released on October 10, 2023. After this date, these versions of Windows Server will no longer receive updates containing protections from security threats, bug fixes, or technical support.

What alternatives to Windows Server 2012 do I have?

Customers can migrate to Microsoft Azure, upgrade to Windows Server 2022, or purchase Extended Security Updates to continue receiving security updates until October 13, 2026. We recommend upgrading to the latest version of Windows Server. Running the latest version of Windows Server allows you to use the latest features – including the latest security features – and delivers the best performance.
