Effective May 4, 2026, Omnissa increases prices for Horizon VDI SaaS and Term bundles. Also, Workspace ONE Server Essentials and Platinum suites for Horizon and Workspace ONE will become available.

Summary
- Horizon with VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) for VDI SaaS and Term bundles: +7%
- Horizon without VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) for VDI SaaS and Term bundles: +16 to 21%
- Exception: Horizon Cloud on Azure Standard Subscription
- Scope: Applies to new and expansion licenses only
- Horizon renewals are not impacted by this price adjustment
- Horizon and Workspace ONE Platinum suites become generally available
- Workspace ONE Server Essentials SKUs reach general availability
Price Increase for select Horizon licenses
Omnissa is introducing a one-time pricing adjustment for its Horizon bundle offerings, effective May 4, 2026. The adjustment applies to:
- Horizon VDI SaaS bundles
- Horizon Term subscription bundles
The price increase level depends on bundle composition:
- Horizon bundles including VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) for VDI increase by 7 percent (%)
- Horizon bundles without VVF for VDI increase by 16 to 21 percent (%)
- Horizon Cloud on Azure Standard Subscription is explicitly excluded from the higher non‑VVF increase
This adjustment only affects new purchases and expansion (N&E) licenses.
It is separate from Horizon renewal uplift policies and does not retroactively affect existing contracts.
Prices in this article are for educational purposes only and are non-binding.
Are you affected by the May 2026 price increase?
You are affected if:
- you buy new Horizon licenses after May 4, 2026, or
- you expand an existing Horizon environment (additional users or capacity) after May 4, 2026
You are not affected if:
- you only renew existing Horizon licenses without expansion
- your Horizon licenses are already contracted and unchanged
- you run Horizon Cloud on Azure Standard Subscription
Impact level if affected:
- +7% if Horizon is licensed with VVF for VDI
- +16–21% if Horizon is licensed without VVF for VDI
What you should do about the price adjustments now
- Check whether any Horizon net‑new or expansion purchases are planned after May 4, 2026
- Confirm whether your Horizon bundles include VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) for VDI
- Quantify the delta between +7% vs. +16–21% before approving expansions (contact an Omnissa partner)
- Avoid assuming renewals are impacted, as they are not part of this adjustment
- Lock in pricing intentionally, not implicitly, for upcoming growth
Once a Horizon expansion is quoted after May 4, 2026, the new pricing applies automatically.
What is Omnissa Horizon?
Omnissa Horizon is an enterprise virtual desktop and application platform used to deliver centralized digital workspaces across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Horizon is licensed via subscription bundles that can be deployed:
- with integrated infrastructure components, or
- on externally sourced or alternative hypervisors
From May 2026 onward, this licensing structure has a direct and measurable impact on net‑new and expansion pricing, while renewal mechanics remain unchanged.
Additional Omnissa portfolio updates effective May 4, 2026
Omnissa announced new portfolio additions, reaching general availability on the same day. These portfolio updates are independent of the Horizon price increase and only matter when planning new scope or restructuring bundles.
Horizon Platinum
Horizon Platinum becomes generally available on May 4, 2026.
It is a top‑tier Horizon SKU that combines the Horizon base platform with several capabilities that were previously licensed separately. In practice, Horizon Platinum bundles:
- Horizon virtual desktops and applications
- Endpoint and device management components
- Digital employee experience monitoring for Horizon workloads
- Security and risk-related services, such as vulnerability and access‑related capabilities
Horizon Platinum is relevant only if your organization already:
- runs larger or more complex Horizon environments, and
- licenses multiple Horizon add-ons or Workspace ONE components today
In those cases, Platinum may simplify licensing and, depending on the existing mix, change the total cost compared to buying components individually.
For customers using basic Horizon functionality only, Platinum is typically not required.
Workspace ONE Platinum
Workspace ONE Platinum also becomes generally available on May 4, 2026.
This SKU is aimed at organizations that want centralized management, experience monitoring, and security controls for endpoints. It combines:
- Unified endpoint management (UEM) for desktops and mobile devices
- Digital employee experience (DEX) insights and remediation
- Security-related services, such as risk analytics and vulnerability defense
- Advanced access and support capabilities
Workspace ONE Platinum is relevant for organizations that:
- already license Workspace ONE Enterprise plus add-ons, or
- want to manage security, experience, and endpoints from a single subscription
It is not mandatory for Horizon usage and should be evaluated only if Workspace ONE is already in scope or planned.
Workspace ONE Server Essentials
The previously delayed Workspace ONE Server Essentials SKUs reach general availability on May 4, 2026.
These SKUs focus on managing servers and non-user-centric workloads, rather than full endpoint fleets.
Workspace ONE Server Essentials is relevant if an organization:
- wants management and visibility for server workloads
- previously postponed decisions due to SKU unavailability
- plans new Workspace ONE deployments alongside Horizon expansions
It is not required for standard Horizon desktop deployments and only matters in environments where server management is explicitly in scope.
