What are Progress MOVEit and WS_FTP?
Progress MOVEit is a complete, automatable, and auditable platform for secure file transfers. Progress describes MOVEit as software that helps organizations move data securely and manage file transfer workflows between internal and external systems.
Progress WS_FTP is a product line for secure file transfer, which includes WS_FTP Server and WS_FTP Professional. Compared to MOVEit, WS_FTP is “only” responsible for secure file transfer over FTP, SFTP, or FTPS, and not for Managed File Transfer (MFT) capabilities.

- Review your requirements and any upcoming MOVEit and WS_FTP renewals for the affected SKUs.
- Check whether a purchase or renewal starts on or after April 1, 2026.
- Update your budget assumptions by adding a 5 percent price increase.
