As announced on April 23, 2024, Veeam acquires Coveware, a leading provider in cyber-extortion incident response. Coveware by Veeam will continue to operate as it does today, and Veeam will integrate some Coveware capabilities into Veeam’s offerings.
Integration of Coveware by Veeam
Veeam is set to integrate select capabilities of Coveware into its offerings. This includes the Veeam Data Platform and the Veeam Cyber Secure Program, aiming to extend these insights to a broader customer base.
What happens to Coveware?
Coveware has been renamed to Coveware by Veeam. It will continue to be available to customers as a full-featured offering, including:
- Automated Forensic Analysis: A fully automated system that scans the customer’s network, assesses the damage, identifies the type of ransomware and helps recover encrypted data. It emphasizes the importance of secure backups for optimal security.
- Expert Cybersecurity Team: A global network of cybersecurity professionals experienced in assessing and mitigating cyber threats, as well as assisting in the recovery process for large organizations.
- Real-Time Threat Data: Provides access to the latest information on ransomware types, attack methods and recovery strategies, enhancing preventative measures and accelerating recovery efforts.
