VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Portfolio Offerings Enhancements

Effective November 2024, Broadcom has enhanced the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Portfolio. The updates include increased value in vSphere Foundation and the introduction of VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus. There are now VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus and VMware vSphere Standard available and other changes.

These latest updates to the VCF Portfolio provide customers with more options and improved features. The enhancements focus on increasing storage capacity and simplifying virtualization choices. These changes aim to optimize IT infrastructure for running virtual machines (VMs) and containers.

 

Key Changes

  • Increased vSAN Capacity: The vSAN capacity in VCF will increase by 2.5 times to 250 GiB per core. This enhancement offers a more robust enterprise-class hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solution.
  • New Compute Virtualization Options: Customers can now choose between:
    • VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus: A comprehensive option for advanced compute virtualization.
    • VMware vSphere Standard: A more basic option for essential virtualization needs.
  • End-of-Sale for Essentials Plus: Due to similarities in pricing and features, Broadcom has decided to discontinue the Essentials Plus option.

Broadcom offers flexible licensing options within a per-core subscription model. This includes:

  • Flexible Subscription Length: Customers can choose the duration that best fits their needs.
  • Price and Payment Flexibility: Various pricing structures are available to accommodate different budgets.
