Microsoft 365 E3/E5 & Teams Enterprise: 3-Year Term Subscriptions available in CSP

Effective June 1, 2025, Microsoft is launching new three-year term subscriptions for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, and Teams Enterprise in the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program. This marks a significant shift in Microsoft’s licensing strategy, aligning CSP offerings more closely with Enterprise Agreement (EA) offers.

There are 10% promotions available for new-to-offer customers:

New Three-Year Term Subscriptions Coming June 1, 2025

Any new or existing Microsoft customer can buy the new 3-year term subscriptions with a 100-seat minimum:

  • Microsoft 365 E3 EEA (no Teams)
  • Microsoft 365 E5 EEA (no Teams)
  • Microsoft 365 E5 EEA (no Teams) without Audio Conferencing
  • Microsoft 365 E5 Security mini suite
  • Microsoft 365 E5 Compliance mini suite
  • Microsoft Teams Enterprise (standalone)

Only customers with active Microsoft 365 or Office 365 subscriptions that include Teams can renew or upgrade to the new 3-year E3 or E5 with Teams SKUs – also with a 100-seat minimum:

  • Microsoft 365 E3 EOS (with Teams included)
  • Microsoft 365 E5 EOS (with Teams included)
  • Microsoft 365 E5 EOS (with Teams included) without Audio Conferencing

“With Teams included” customers can change their subscription term midterm to a longer-term duration (i.e., monthly to annual, annual to triennial) while retaining their Teams entitlement.

Minimum seat requirement

To buy the new 3-year term subscriptions for Microsoft E3, E5, or Teams Enterprise, you must purchase at least 100 seats per individual SKU. This rule applies to each specific version, not the overall product or tenant.

Example:

  • You can buy 100 seats of Microsoft 365 E3 (no Teams).
  • But you cannot buy 50 seats of E3 (no Teams) and 50 seats of E3 with Teams included – each must meet the 100-seat minimum on its own.

FAQ

Can I combine seats of the same product using different term subscriptions?

Yes, you can mix different subscription terms (monthly, annual, or 3-year) for the same product.

However, each subscription type must meet its own seat minimum.

If a 3-year term requires 100 seats, you must buy at least 100 seats for that term – even if you also have monthly or annual subscriptions for the same product.

What billing plans are available for the new three-year SKUs?

The billing plans available for these new three-year offers will be:

  1. Triennial/triennial (pay upfront)
  2. Triennial/annual

Monthly billing plans will not be available.

Will the price of the new Microsoft 365 three-year SKUs in CSP be the same price as the Microsoft 365 one-year SKUs in CSP?

Yes, the price per user per month will be the same as the equivalent one-year term Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) in CSP. There are promotions available though, which make the three-year options more attractive, giving 10% discount.

What are the benefits of the new 3-year terms?

  • Price protection: Customers lock in pricing for 3 years, helping manage costs—especially useful in regions with currency fluctuations.
  • Smooth transitions: These subscriptions offer an easy path for customers moving from expiring Enterprise Agreements (EA) to the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program with SCHNEIDER IT MANAGEMENT.

Can customers reduce seats or cancel a 3-year Microsoft 365 subscription?

  • No, customers can’t reduce seat counts during the 3-year term. Once purchased, the number of seats is locked in.
  • Microsoft’s 7-day cancellation policy still applies—cancellations must happen within 7 days of purchase.
