Microsoft Hotpatch for Windows Server 2025

Effective September 25, 2024, Microsoft has announced the public preview of Hotpatch for Windows Server 2025, enabled by Azure Arc. This feature allows for Operating System (OS) security updates without requiring a reboot, enhancing operational resilience for critical workloads. The Hotpatch feature is available in public preview for the Windows Server 2025 Datacenter and Standard editions. This capability is particularly beneficial for organizations that need to maintain uptime while applying necessary updates.

 

What is Windows Server Hotpatch?

Windows Server Hotpatch allows administrators to apply security updates to Windows Server without rebooting the system. This minimizes downtime and ensures that mission-critical applications remain operational during updates.
