Effective July 20, 2022, Oracle Database Service for Microsoft Azure is available.
First presented at Microsoft Inspire, Oracle Database Service for Microsoft Azure is an Oracle-managed service for Azure customers to easily provision, access, and operate enterprise-grade Oracle Database services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with a familiar Azure experience.
Users can seamlessly build Azure applications using the high-performance, high-availability, and automated management of Oracle Database services such as Autonomous Database running on OCI.
The Oracle Database Service for Azure provides a streamlined experience for establishing low latency OCI-Azure connectivity, virtual networks, and federated identity management. Database queries and query results are made possible through the interconnect. Database logs and metrics from OCI are integrated into Azure to simplify monitoring and management.
There’s no additional cost for using Oracle Database Service for Azure. There are no charges for the interconnect ports or data ingress/egress over the interconnect. You will be billed for use of other Azure and OCI services by Microsoft and Oracle, respectively.
