Microsoft Azure Hybrid Benefit Scope-level management

Effective October 6, 2021, Scope-level management of the Microsoft Azure Hybrid Benefit is available.

Azure Hybrid Benefit (AHB) is a licensing benefit that helps you reduce Azure costs by using your on-premises Windows Server and SQL Server licenses with Software Assurance (SA).

AHB for SQL Server can be used with Azure resources such as SQL Databases or Managed Instances, or SQL Server running in a virtual machine (VM). This means that customers can bring their own licenses with SA – or Server Subscriptions acquired through Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) – to pay for the SQL Server part of the resources. Until now, AHB has always been activated at the resource level. With the new option customers can now manage it for a single Azure Subscription or for a whole Billing Account.
