Microsoft Azure price increases in Europe [2023]

Microsoft Partner - SCHNEIDER IT MANAGEMENT

Effective April 1, 2023, prices for Azure services in Euro increase by 11 percent to more closely align to Azure pricing in US dollars. Even after this adjustment, customers buying in Euro will continue to find Azure offerings highly competitive.

Microsoft periodically assesses its pricing of products and services to adjust for local currency fluctuations and to ensure reasonable alignment across regions. This change to Azure prices is an outcome of this assessment.

How does this change affect Azure customers purchasing in Euro?

Enterprise Agreements (EA) or Enterprise Subscription Agreements (EAS) or Server and Cloud Enrollments (SCE)

Customers who purchased Azure within an EA, EAS or SCE agreement have price protection on currently offered Azure services and will receive the lower of the baseline price or the new market price. A baseline price is the price at the beginning of an Azure agreement or the price at which a new Azure service was made generally available. If the new market price is higher than the baseline prices, customers may see an increase up to but not above their baseline prices. New Azure services will be priced as noted on the then-current pricelist.

In some cases, the agreement within which Azure is purchased has expired, and in these instances the agreement is referred to as being in “Extended Terms.” Customers in Extended Terms have no price protection and, accordingly, the percent increase will be effective on April 1, 2023.

Pay-as-you-go subscriptions (Web-Direct)

For customers under the pay-as-you-go model prices will increase on April 1, 2023.

Azure Plan in Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) New Commerce Experience (NCE)

Pricing of Azure Plan in CSP NCE is in USD and will not be affected by this change.

Azure in Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Legacy

With Azure in CSP Legacy, end-customer pricing is determined by the channel partner. SCHNEIDER IT MANAGEMENT does not provide Azure in CSP Legacy.
