Effective October 1, 2023, Microsoft Defender for IoT moves to Microsoft 365, benefitting Microsoft 365 E5 and E5 Security customers.

Newly included Defender for IoT capabilities in Microsoft 365 E5 and E5 Security

With this change, Microsoft 365 E5 and E5 Security customers automatically get the following capabilities for up to five enterprise IoT devices per user license:

  • Device Discovery: Gain a comprehensive view of your IoT ecosystem. Detect and track your IoT devices effortlessly.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Ensure the ongoing security of your IoT devices through constant vigilance. Detect and respond to threats promptly.
  • Vulnerability Management: Stay ahead of vulnerabilities. Access timely information about vulnerabilities, enabling you to patch and secure your IoT devices effectively.

 

Per Device Add-on Licenses

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint P2 users have the flexibility to expand their protection to additional IoT devices through per-device add-on licenses.
