Microsoft Syntex Pay as you go PAYG

Microsoft Syntex PAYG: Billing

Syntex PAYG usage will be billed to your Azure subscription, similar to other products under an Azure subscription.

The pricing is based on the total number of pages processed and is country- and currency-specific.

Meter What is counted? What is billed?
Unstructured document processing Page The total number of pages processed.

You will not be charged for model training.

Prebuilt document processing Page The total number of pages processed.

You will not be charged for model training.

Microsoft Syntex PAYG: Benefits

  • Availability. Users can distribute Syntex pay-as-you-go services to all users without requiring separate licenses.
  • Consistency. Syntex PAYG is consistent with other consumptive services delivered by Azure.
  • Flexibility. Pay-as-you-go allows for scalability and flexibility as your usage may fluctuate. Pay for only what you use and do not pay for what you do not use.
  • Cost savings. By leveraging Microsoft Cost Management, you can reduce the hassle and overhead of license procurement while managing and splitting costs across business units.
  • No commitment. Unlike per-user licensing, pay-as-you-go allows you to get started right away without locking into any long-term commitments or upfront costs.

Microsoft Syntex PAYG: Setup

  1. Get contributor access to or create an Azure subscription within the same tenant as your organization.
  2. Select the Azure subscription ID in the Set Up Syntex area of the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  3. Select a resource group from within that subscription.
  4. Save
  5. Syntex document processing services are now available for end users in your organization.

Microsoft Syntex PAYG: Application limitations

Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go pricing is currently limited to Syntex unstructured and prebuilt document processing services and does not change how you use Syntex content assembly, universal annotation, AI Builder, content query, or other Syntex services with a per-user license.

Microsoft Syntex per-user licensing remains available

The existing Microsoft Syntex per-user license remains available to customers at this time. Microsoft Syntex per-user licenses for unstructured and prebuilt document processing will not be billed on a pay-as-you-go basis at this time.

Conclusion

Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go (PAYG) licensing is available starting March 7, 2023, for Microsoft 365 Commercial Cloud customers. The new licensing model allows users to pay only for what they use and does not require any long-term commitments or upfront costs. The usage will be billed to the Azure subscription, and the pricing is based on the total number of pages processed, which is country- and currency-specific. The Syntex PAYG service is consistent with other Azure services and offers scalability and flexibility to users. However, it is currently limited to unstructured and prebuilt document processing services. The existing Syntex per-user licensing remains available to customers who are not charged on a PAYG basis for unstructured and prebuilt document processing. Overall, the new PAYG licensing model provides a cost-effective and flexible solution for organizations that use Microsoft Syntex for content management.
