Effective October 1, 2023, the Microsoft Universal Print User Subscription License (SL) is available.
What is Microsoft Universal Print?
Microsoft Universal Print is a cloud-based software-as-a-service printing solution that allows users to print from any device, anywhere, without the need for print servers or drivers. It also offers features such as secure printing, print analytics, and printer management.
Universal Print User SL
Starting from October 1, 2023, users who want to use Universal Print but do not have a license that includes Universal Print jobs can purchase the Microsoft Universal Print User SL. This is a standalone license that is billed per user per month and includes 5 print jobs per month. A print job is defined as a single print request sent to a printer, regardless of the number of pages or copies.
For which users is Universal Print User SL recommended?
The Microsoft Universal Print User SL is suitable for users who have low printing needs and do NOT have one of the following licenses that already include Universal Print jobs. Here is a comparison of the jobs per month for subscriptions that include Universal Print jobs:

Add-ons
For users who have higher printing needs, there are two add-ons available for the Microsoft Universal Print User SL:
- Universal Print 500 Jobs Add-on: This add-on adds 500 print jobs per month to the Microsoft Universal Print User SL.
- Universal Print 10,000 Jobs Add-on: This add-on adds 10,000 print jobs per month to the Microsoft Universal Print User SL.
These add-ons require a 12-month commitment and can be purchased in multiples to increase the print job quota.
