Power BI is a business analytics service by Microsoft aiming to provide interactive visualizations and business intelligence capabilities with an interface simple enough for end users to create their own reports and dashboards.
Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) includes all Power BI Pro license capabilities, and also adds features such as paginated reports, AI, and other capabilities that are only available to Premium subscribers.
Power BI PPU includes the following features:
- Model Size Limit of 10 GB
- Refresh Rate of 48/day
- Paginated Reports
- AI Capabilities (AutoML, Impact Analysis, Cognitive Services)
- Advanced Dataflows Features (Direct Query, etc.)
- Usage-based Aggregate Optimization
- Application Lifecycle Management (Deployment Pipelines)
- Enhanced automatic page refresh
- XMLA Endpoint Connectivity
However, comparing Power BI PPU to Power BI Premium Per Capacity (PPC), Power BI PPC offers additional features, such as Multi-Geo Support, Unlimited Distribution, Power BI reports on-premises and Bring Your Own Key.
Power BI PPU can be purchased as base license and as add-on.
