Microsoft Security Copilot: Release date
Microsoft announced the private preview of Microsoft Security Copilot on March 28, 2023. Private previews are currently limited and not open for nominations. There is no official release date yet. We expect the official release date to be some time later in 2023, with a public preview phase in between.
Microsoft Security Copilot: What exactly is it?
Microsoft Security Copilot is Microsoft’s new AI integration into its security products. Similarly to Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Security Copilot uses OpenAI’s GPT-4 generative AI. It combines this advanced large language model (LLM) with a security-specific model from Microsoft. Security Copilot helps analysts for example by responding to incidents, by hunting threats and by creating security reports.
Security Copilot also integrates with the end-to-end Microsoft Security products, and over time it will expand to a growing ecosystem of third-party products.
