Let us compare different security roles and their demand for the Demand Planning capability:
Demand Planning Manager
A demand planning manager (incl. forecast analyst, market researcher, and promotion planner) forecasts customer demand for products or services, analyzes historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to predict future demand, including:
- Configure the demand planning app (role-level security, time fences, worksheets).
- View and create planning data (forecasts and calculations).
- View and create tables and import data from excel.
- View and create transformations.
- View and create worksheets.
- Export plans when they’re ready to share with Supply Chain Management.
For these capabilities, a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Premium license needs to be assigned.
Demand Planning Contributor
A demand planning contributor, who wants to view worksheets (see shared worksheets and save their own views) and collaborate using Microsoft Teams and in–app comments, needs either Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Premium.
