On May 1, 2024, Microsoft Viva Pulse is available as a standalone license. It has been part of the Microsoft Viva Suite since July 18, 2023, and part of Microsoft Viva Workplace Analytics and Employee Feedback, and is now also available separately.
What is Microsoft Viva Pulse?
Microsoft Viva Pulse is a tool designed to empower managers and team leads to quickly gather feedback from their teams through surveys. Viva Pulse offers:
- Feedback Surveys: Managers can create and send out brief, research-backed surveys to understand their team’s experiences and needs.
- Actionable Insights: The feedback collected can be analyzed to provide actionable insights, helping leaders to make informed decisions.
- Customization: Surveys can be tailored with specific questions to suit the team’s requirements.
- Integration: Viva Pulse integrates with Microsoft Teams, allowing for seamless feedback collection within the team’s workflow.
Viva Pulse is particularly useful for capturing quick snapshots of team sentiment and driving team success through informed action.

- Enterprise Agreement (EA)
- Enterprise Subscription Agreement (EAS)
- Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA)

The licensing prerequisites for Viva Pulse (standalone) are:
- Microsoft 365 Business Basic/Business Standard/Business Premium/F1/F3/E3/E5, or
- Office 365 F3/E1/E3/E5, or
- Microsoft Teams Essentials/Enterprise/EEA
