Effective February 2026, Microsoft ended the sale of the following Dynamics 365 Commerce Add-ons:
- Dynamics 365 Commerce Recommendations
- Dynamics 365 Commerce Ratings and Reviews
These Add-ons are no longer available for new purchases, and renewals for existing customers will end soon. This change affects retailers who use machine learning product recommendations or advanced customer review management within Dynamics 365 Commerce.
What has changed?
Microsoft has officially ended the sale of both Dynamics 365 Commerce Add‑ons:

Changes include:
- No new purchases for either add‑on.
- Renewals will be discontinued soon, meaning customers will not be able to extend existing terms after their current subscription expires.
- These capabilities are no longer offered as standalone licensed Add‑ons.
- Microsoft has not announced any replacement licensing
- Microsoft has not confirmed which future Commerce licenses (if any) will include similar capabilities
What is Dynamics 365 Commerce Recommendations?
Commerce Recommendations provides AI‑based product recommendations on eCommerce sites. It helps retailers:
- Display personalized product suggestions
- Promote “related” or “similar” items
- Improve cross‑sell and upsell opportunities
- Increase conversion rates through automated recommendation logic
What is Dynamics 365 Commerce Ratings & Reviews?
Commerce Ratings & Reviews enables retailers to collect, display, and manage customer reviews and star ratings for products. It allows businesses to:
- Capture customer feedback directly on product pages
- Show average ratings on product lists and search results
- Display full review lists with sorting and filtering options
- Use review data in POS and call center views
- Automatically moderate input using Azure Cognitive Services
The feature continues to exist as part of the Commerce platform.
Licensing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce: Additional applications
Now, only two out of 4 add-ons remain (e-Commerce and Commercial Scale Unit – Cloud):
- The e‑Commerce Add‑on provides the core B2C and B2B online storefront capabilities for Dynamics 365 Commerce. It enables product catalogs, shopping carts, checkout, and customer account experiences. It is required for organizations that want to run a full online store directly on the Dynamics 365 Commerce platform.
- The Commerce Scale Unit – Cloud extends the Commerce environment with additional cloud capacity used for performance, redundancy, and co‑location scenarios. It ensures that large retail or high‑traffic e‑Commerce operations can scale reliably by offloading workloads such as real‑time inventory, order processing, and POS services.
(1) Requires a Dynamics 365 Commerce deployment with at least one D365 Commerce USL.
(2) e-Commerce transactions based on Average Order Value (AOV).
(3) Contact your Microsoft account representative/partner for details regarding the default Commerce Scale Unit – Cloud mapping.
(4) Includes 240K Commerce transactions (20K /month x 12months).
(5) Includes up to 250K active ratings and reviews.

What should I do now?
Because Microsoft has ended the sale and soon the renewal of Commerce Recommendations and Ratings & Reviews, you should:
- Review your current Commerce setup
Check whether your Dynamics 365 Commerce environment actively uses Recommendations, Ratings & Reviews, or both. - Assess operational impact
Consider how removing these features would affect product discovery, upselling, and customer feedback workflows. - Plan for a replacement
Microsoft has not announced successor products, so customers should evaluate alternative solutions or partner integrations for recommendations and review management. - Monitor Microsoft licensing updates
We expect Microsoft to recommend a route of replacement or announce, which licenses will include the functionalities. Future Commerce licenses may include replacement functionality, but this has not been confirmed. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on this. - Prepare for renewals ending
If your current add-on subscription expires soon, expect that you cannot extend the term.
